maxandgna: I love shooting men. which is funny to think about...
I love shooting men. which is funny to think about considering I am a makeup artist by trade. you would think that women would be a far more inspiring subject artistically, as generally speaking the makeup possibilities are much more plentiful. but no, men it seems turn me on artistically for the moment. lucky for me, max is much on the same page, and lucky for us, we have an awesome connection with an agency here in the city who is more than willing to indulge us with men from their roster. bring it on, and let the baby oil abound I say!
i suppose its actually not all that surprising that i like the ease of shooting men, when you take into consideration the fact that styling men is infinitely easier on the limited budget of a self-proclaimed starving artist. a few good designer staples, and a trip to the nearest vintage store nabs you enough changes for an entire publishable story. we have had a hell of a time trying to find a committed stylist of any sort to work with here in the city, men women or otherwise. it would be ever so nice to find someone who had the capacity to pull clothes from a variety of sources outside of our well-connected, but-gets-small-quick group of patient and willing acquaintances. nevertheless, i think we have made do pretty well over the last bit with what we have been given, and we are quite happy with the results. there is a rumour that a pretty man story of ours will be published in the uk sometime in the near future.
